Western Catskills provides grants for owner occupied housing rehabilitation, first time homebuyers and financial counseling to residents in Harpersfield, Kortright, Middletown, Roxbury, and Stamford in Delaware County; Ashland, Halcott, Hunter, Jewett, Lexington, and Prattsville in Greene County and Blenheim, Broome, Conesville, Fulton, Gilboa, Jefferson, and Summit in Schoharie County.

Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council Inc. administers a homeowner-counseling program from their office located in Stamford, New York. We have over 20 years experience providing funding for and managing first-time homebuyer programs for the moderate-income residents. Western Catskills, a HUD Recognized Counseling Agency, has a homeowner-counseling program which is broken into four sessions running for 1˝ hour each. These sessions cover Financial Planning for home ownership, Housing Affordability, Contracts of Sale, Budgeting, Mortgage Loan Applications, Down Payment and Closing Costs, The Closing and Closing Documents, Mortgage Payment versus Rent, Life as a Homeowner, Post Costing “Keeping Your Home and Managing Your Finances”. In addition, applicants attend a one on one session with Western Catskills personnel to discuss individual needs before attending the formal training sessions. The one on one session will be a minimum of one hour to an hour and a half session.
